fake it, not bake it.

So I have been asked alot lately about my tanned skin. I use fake tan a lot, more so now than ever, just because it is so not worth sunbaking anymore! Last year I got a really bad sunburn/heat stroke because of tanning on a 40 degree day, and I haven't sunbaked since! I thought I would write this post because of some people coming into work who thought I had olive skin (I'm a ghost in reality), which outstanded me! They asked me for my top 3 tans, so here I am giving them to you! Not in any order, or preference really...

1. St Tropez Tan - Cream & Bronzing Mousse:
The Tanning Mousse is great for a night out - It is instant, very brown and doesn't smell like fake tan, so no one will know the difference. It's about $50 from most places (Myer, Chemist Warehouse, Terry White) , but I tend to buy it in bulk when it's on sale for about $35.

The cream is amazing to wear daily - use it every day or every second for a glowing tan and great smelling skin. Its about $30 from most places - fairly average for tan's these days.

2. Sugar Baby's Instant Mousse:
This tan is great if you are on the go and forgot to tan the night before - it goes on absolutley instantly, and looks very dark and natural. The only problem is - it goes onto your sheets badly, washes off in the shower, meaning you need to use it every day, and if you get a bit of water on it during the day, it blotches off leaving you will un-tanned circles on your skin! Not my fav - but it's cheap at $20 a pop - making it good for a quick fix!

3. J-Bronze By Jennifer Hawkins

This is the newest one I have tried - I tried it today and already I have an amazingly brown tan, with shimmery sparkles all over my skin. It smells amazing, like roses and perfume, and fresh spring flowers. I love it already!

The best way to enjoy a tan is out of the bottle - no matter what anyone says - it's much better than the risks of sitting in the sun all day getting a tan!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Any suggestions on other brands? :)

summer love

the things I love about summer - beach, messy hairstyles, fruit and salads, crochet, dresses, distressed denim shorts paired with clean lines, tan skin, waves, chunky watches, sparkles, blonde hair, messy buns, freckles, no shoes, mexican food, friends, minimal clothing, smoothies, boyfriend jeans, hats, city, fresh flowers and white on white.

a white christmas

Ever since I was little, all I wanted was a white Christmas tree! I just loved them - they felt so homely and christmas-y. So this year I had to have one! Here are a few photo's from our home which is now filled with Christmas decorations and lights, and candles. I love the smell of candles, especially caramel and vanilla smelling ones, they just make our home feel so homely and welcoming.

I was going to get teal baubles and tinsel ect, but I thought that for our first Christmas we should make it traditional, so instead we chose red and gold as our colour scheme.

I love these features on our table. The large stick-like ornament is from Adairs, and the candles are just from the supermarket, but I thought they were so lovely.

The French side of my family will love this - 'Noel' means Christmas in French.

I love our home like this, so warm and homely..

This is Kobe's most hated ornament - he thinks that it is real and continuously barks at it from the couch.

My little elf - I love him so much! He makes this Christmas all the more special!

home, sweet home..

Here is part of the reason my blogging stopped for a while - our new home! We moved here in September, and ever since this is where all my time, energy, and money has gone into. I love it! And wouldn't have it any other way - our home is the perfect mix between girly and boyish, but I have had to stop myself from buying pink pillows, or girly things, and adjust to darker, and more manly styles to suit Kyle's style too. Here are some random photo's around our home, enjoy.

Sprinkles of Christmas - but not too much before December 1st.

Fresh flowers & the work station.

Fashion books, of course.

One thing we can't live without - a good coffee in the morning. No instant here!

A few favourite things to eat - fresh fruit, herbs, crunchy bread, and home-made banana cake.

I love that when we look out the back we don't see other houses, but some bush & nice blue skies.

Fresh sheets - nothing better.

I love baskets - And there is a lot around our home. I feel like they organise me, but also make everything look so homely and country-esque.
